The India/Pakistan Missile Buys

I have a question on the recent spate of missile purchases and missile
technology purchases by India (from China) and Pakistan (from Israel ?)

What were the missile types and capabilites (range, payload, accuracy)?

the stuff, thanks!

For Al Dobyns:

Al, thanks much for the goodies!  Very nice packet of stuff and thanks
for the photo as well.

(I’d have made this email but I don’t have the email address handy)

The photo is remarkably similar to one I took when 976 was outside – it
is remotely possible we were even there the same day!  I think I was there
on the Saturday after she was delivered, but I could be wrong about that.

BTW, congrats on the composition and quality of your photo.  VERY nice.

first automatic pilots?

When were the first auto-pilot systems introduced on
military flight decks?

What types of planes were they installed in?

Was flying the beam considered an auto-pilot system?

Thanks,

Wanted Info on Avro Arrow

I have never heard of the Arrow until reading about it quite a bit
on this newsgroup…
can anyone give a list of some good books about the Arrow
or a book of Aircraft with some details about the Arrow.
If the specifications are accurate, then it is/was a truely good
aircraft.

>Grey A10s

Last year the airforce decieded to repaint all the A10s
to a light grey color. One of the Aviation Week issues contained an article
concering the change in color, but what was really interesting was the fact
that they talked about using some form of an active camoflauge that can not only
fool an observer but also the radar. It had to do with a polymer paint (please
correct me if I am wrong) that would change its color( it turns dark grey or
black) when a voltage is applied to it. In this way an A10 could look like
a F16 to a person on the ground and a radar operator. Presently the paint
only changes color from its original color(no applied voltage) to black
 (voltage applied).
I think this has the potential to be a truly active camoflage system.
It could be made to change colors(any color-like chamelions)to hide an object’s
true shape or maybe even change the color of an object automatically to match
the enviroment.

Blackbird list requested?

Someone named John (don’t have his last name or userid) asked
if anyone has a list of where all the remaining Blackbirds are.
I have been keeping one for 2 years now and have posted it here
once.  Rather than repost it and hoping that the particular person
will see it, I’m hoping John will send me a note that includes his
id so I can send mail directly to him.  For FIDOnet users I can
be reached at 1:115/887.2 just in case John wants to send a note
via FIDO.  If all else fails I can repost it and hope he sees it.

ASCII plane graphics

I’ve lost my reference to the ASCII plane graphics that were collected
a while back.  Could someone point me in the right direction again?

Thanks,

Info on B-70

Info on B-70 Valkyrie

I would like to know why the B-70 never went into production.

The source I have state the speed of plane as Mach 3.
1. What is the speed at sea level?
2. Speed at high altitude?
3. Service ceiling?
4. Range with max weapon load?
5. Armaments?

I know 2 prototypes were build, the second prototype was lost in
mid-air collision with an F-104 in 1966, and the first one was
retired to Wright Patterson in 1969.
